6 Useful Mac OS Applications

Over the past week I have stumbled upon a few great Mac OS X applications (free/cheap). By far one of my favourites is Pando, I love how easy this utility makes sending large files to friends and clients. In my opinion the following applications and utilities are a must have for most mac users:Pando icon Pando (Free)Send large files easily to any email address using Pando’s simple upload application. The software is available for both Mac and PC so everyone can benefit from this great utility.Visor icon Visor (Free)By the touch of a hotkey, Visor drops a terminal window over your current screen in a stylish transparent window. This is a must for those who open terminal.app regularly.SuperDuper icon SuperDuper (Shareware, $27.95)SuperDuper creates fully bootable backups painlessly. The interface is very simple and it can be scheduled to make automatic backups of your hard drive.Menufela icon Menufela (Free)Menufela hides the Mac OS X menu bar, giving you extra space to work. You can make the menu bar reappear with a hotkey or by simply moving your mouse to the top of the screen.Doodim icon Doodim (Free)Enhance the visibility of the foremost application by dimming the background of your screen. This utility is perfect for creating screenshots for publishing.Adium icon Adium (Free)Adium is a free instant messaging application for Mac OS X that can connect to almost every popular service. Adium is very customizable and makes managing several IM accounts a snap.Im not sure Menufela falls under the “essential” category but if you need a few extra pixels of space on that brand new MacBook try it out. Also, I might make these lists a regular thing on I Create Things, who knows..
